Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is due out on PlayStation 4 some time in 2017. The standalone adventure, which initially started out life as Uncharted 4 DLC, will see the return of fan favorite Chloe Fraser, who teams up with mercenary Nadine Ross as the pair explore India among other locations in search of the mythical Tusk of Ganesha. The events of the game will take place after Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy release date coming 2017

Here’s the lowdown on the Tusk of Ganesha for those interested:

“One day, Parashurama, an avatar of Vishnu, went to pay a visit to Shiva, but along the way he was blocked by Ganesha. Parashurama hurled himself at Ganesha with his axe and Ganesha (knowing that this axe was given to him by Shiva) allowed himself out of respect to be struck and lost his tusk as a result.”

Naughty Dog has confirmed that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be a pretty substantial affair in terms of length, offering more hours than The Last of Us: Left Behind while not quite measuring up to Uncharted 4’s meaty adventure. Fans can expect the game to be tonally quite different to Nathan Drake’s final chapter, which ties in with Chloe’s no-nonsense, kick-arse persona.

A release date for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has yet to be announced, but expect it to drop next year.
