Bungie has revealed extensive details on the upcoming Destiny Age of Triumph, which the studio confirmed to be the last major live event for the shared-world shooter ahead of the hotly anticipated Destiny 2 later this year.

Speaking in a live stream, the former Halo developer rolled out a boatload of features for the upcoming event, as well as confirming a Destiny Age of Triumph release date for you to mark in your diary: March 28, 2017.

So, what can fellow Destiny Guardians expect? For starters, Age of Triumph will not increase the game’s Light Level, with all raids being on par with the current level. That’s including old raids, which will be brought back with this latest update, so expect to see the likes of Crota’s End, Vault of Glass, King’s Fall, and Wrath of the Machine. What’s more, every raid will have fresh ornamental armor to obtain.

Bungie will also augment these raid with weekly challenges, with modifiers making them even tougher than the standard versions. Elsewhere, Age of Triumph will boast the largest Record Book to date at 13 pages long, with Bungie wanting every Destiny player to utilise the feature, promising ample distinctions such as completing all of the story and playing from launch, plus items for newcomers to the series.

However, Bungie noted that even if you have been playing Destiny from the beginning, no one will be more than half-way through the book from the start when the update launches. Pleasingly, the studio also confirmed that Destiny will remain online “for the foreseeable future” despite the impending release of the sequel.

Destiny was released in September 2014 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Despite a few teething problems at launch, the game quickly built up a loyal fanbase, with Bungie rolling out three major expansion in its first year: The Dark Below, House of Wolves, and The Taken King. Support for last-generation versions of the game ceased last summer ahead of the release of the final major add-on, Rise of Iron
