Electronic Arts has confirmed that gamer will be able to take FIFA 18 for a spin ahead of its hotly anticipated release later this year, thanks to the publisher’s upcoming EA Play event this summer.

Taking place June 10-12, the event will give you a chance to play FIFA 18 months ahead of launch and will also feature appearance by a number of other upcoming EA-published titles, such as Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the new Need for Speed. The event takes place in Los Angeles, with tickets going on sale on April 20 at 9.00 am PST/5.00pm BST.

Last year, the publishing powerhouse held its event at London’s legendary Hammersmith Apollo while also providing a live link-up to its E3 2016 presser in L.A., although this year it appears EA Play won’t be coming to Britain. However, it will be offering content via EA Play online, with “detailed gameplay deep dives, competitive events and exclusive interviews” up for grabs.

FIFA 17 saw the release of a brand new feature known as The Journey, with EA’s Andrew Wilson earlier this year confirming that the single-player mode will return for a second season.

FIFA 18 will build on the foundation we created with story mode this year, bringing players back to The Journey with Season 2, featuring new characters and new storylines,” he said. “Our development team in Vancouver is delivering deeply innovative new experiences across this year’s game, including an Ultimate Team, and creating the most emotionally immersive and connected FIFA we have ever produced.

Meanwhile, Ultimate Team.co.uk have put together their wish-list for FIFA 18 legends, which includes the likes of Paul Gascoigne, Johan Cruyff and Diego Maradona. The FIFA 18 release date is currently scheduled for September, 2017.
