Electronic Arts has announced the Star Wars Battlefront 2 release date for PS4, PC, and Xbox One, confirming the upcoming sci-fi shooter will launch on all three platforms on November 17, 2017.
The news comes following the Star Wars Celebration event over the weekend, where EA, alongside developers DICE, Motive, plus Lucasfilm, unveiled the first Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer for the hotly anticipated sequel.
Unlike the previous title released back in 2015, Star Wars Battlefront 2 features a dedicated single-player campaign in addition to its online component, and includes multiple Star Wars eras instead of just plucking inspiration from the original trilogy. This means you’ll see the likes of Kylo Ren mixing it up with Darth Maul, Yoda, Luke Skywalker and other familiar faces.
DICE had previously stated that it was aiming to fix many of the issues that gamers had with the original Star Wars Battlefront, and from the look of things it’s definitely done a solid job so far. The company is also receiving help on Battlefront 2 from Criterion Games, who are perhaps best known for their work on the critically acclaimed Burnout franchise.
Don’t forget to mark the Star Wars Battlefront 2 release date in your diaries folks, and stay tuned for more info on the game as we get it.
