Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy success fuels hope for more Crash PS4 remakes

Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy has notched up another week at the top of the U.K. All Format Chart, fending off stiff competition from the Nintendo Switch-exclusive, Splatoon 2.

Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy continues chart success

The success of the one-time PlayStation mascot means that it is tied with Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us as the PS4-exclusive game with the most number ones in the country. It’s also had the biggest launch of any PS4 game in 2017 to date.

Interestingly, it was Naughty Dog who actually developed the original PlayStation games that the N.Sane Trilogy is based on, albeit here they’re fully remade from the ground-up for PS4 by Vicarious Visions.

Perhaps most crucial, however, is that the success of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy may result in further Crash PS4 remakes. Vicarious Visions and publisher Activision, who owns the rights to the series, said that additional titles were always a possibility depending on the success of the N.Sane Trilogy.

More Crash PS4 remakes possible

Vicarious Visions has name checked the fan-favorite Crash Team Racing as a possible candidate for a future PS4 remake, and there’s even been chatter of a brand new Crash Bandicoot game for the PS4.

While nothing official has been confirmed on either project yet, it’s obvious that Crash has found an audience again on the PS4 judging by the success of N.Sane Trilogy, at least in the U.K. Hopefully, the game will continue to build momentum in other territories too so Activision will have all the incentive it needs to green-light a new game.

Activision recently confirmed that the Crash Bandicoot games within the N.Sane Trilogy, particularly the original title in the series, are indeed more difficult than their PSOne counterparts.
