Bad news. They’ll be a PlayStation Plus price increase in Europe and the UK very soon.

Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus prices will be increasing from August 2017, with the annual cost of the subscription-based service bumping to £49.99.

The price hike will go into effect on August 31, and pertains to all three possible subscription models for PS Plus. The changes are outlined below.

  • Annual subscription: £39.99 to £49.99
  • Quarterly subscription: £14.99 to £19.99
  • Monthly subscription: £5.99 to £6.99

Those of you who are already a PS Plus member will be charged the new price based on your subscription model once the increase comes into effect. If you have yet to sign up to PS Plus, then you can still purchase a membership at the current price; however, the new costs will be stacked on from August 31.

PS Plus has recently celebrated its seventh anniversary, with Sony giving away a free PS Plus theme to commemorate the milestone.
