During EA’s gamescom 2017 press conference, DICE just unveiled something a lot of Battlefield fans have been asking for for a very long time, and that’s a proper competitive mode. Called "Incursions," this official Battlefield 1 competitive mode will feature 5v5 matches,w hich will feature infantry and vehicular combat.
Added details revealed on stage were a revamped scoring system for the mode, making it as exciting to watch compared to your usual Battlefield matches, and choosing a class at the start of a round (which hints at possibly being locked into one class for an entire match). The mode will have a closed alpha this September which you can register for here. The alpha is PC only for now, but don’t be surprised if it makes its way to consoles soon. If the CTE (Community Test Environment) can make it to consoles. there’s no reason why the new mode won’t, right?
Would you watch a Battlefield 1 competitive match or is the gameplay not fast enough to engage viewers?
