Biomutant trailer gives us a glimpse of giant enemies, mechanical insects & more

Just this weekend, we reported on the "Biomutant" leak that gave us a glimpse of the one-eyed raccoon who’s starring in the open-world action-RPG made by Experiment 101, which we now know comprises of ex-Just Cause and ex-Mad Max developers. Now, though, we get our first Biomutant trailer and see how badass a raccoon can be.

Thanks to the game’s official site, we know quite a fair amount of BioMutant info.

THQ Nordic and independent developer Experiment 101 have revealed Biomutant®, a new and original open-world action RPG for the PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Explore a world in turmoil and define its fate – will you be the hero and saviour or lead it to an even darker destiny?

Biomutant®’s unique design lets players change their character’s abilities and appearance with powerful mutations, bionic prosthetics and weapons. Grow claws, sprout wings, or attach a robotic leg – each choice will impact the way your hero plays in real-time combat that blends melee martial arts and firearms.

Set in an imaginative post-apocalyptic universe, Biomutant® is a kung fu fable filled with fantastic creatures to discover, dangerous factions to navigate, and colorful worlds to explore with mechs, paragliders, balloons, mounts, jet skis and more.

Lots of gameplay details such as crafting, leveling up and even third-person gameplay mechanics are discussed on the official site.

Biomutant is expect to hit sometime in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and will be playable at gamescom, so expect videos of gameplay to crop up soon.

Based on what we’ve seen and read so far, Biomutant really reminds me of Horizon Zero Dawn. Just on how the game looks, melding animals with tech and so on. Let’s hope it’s as good as Guerrilla’s action game when we finally see it in action.
