Tenchu 4 is coming to PSP

According to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine (as translated by Gamekyo), From Software’s Tenchu 4 is now coming to PlayStation Portable.

A rather odd choice of secondary platform, you might think, given that the game was first released for Nintendo’s Wii, whose controls are very much chalk to the PSP’s cheese. We suspect the handheld’s similar levels of technological grunt – slightly less powerful than the PS2, speaking loosely, where the Wii is slightly more – have a lot to do with it, as may its comparable success at Japanese retail.

Besides the fact of its existence, not much is known about the PSP version. The Wii game sees the return of the scarred Rikimaru and waif-like accomplice Ayame, with players sneaking, stabbing and slashing their way through ten missions and more than fifty sidequests.

According to Gamekyo, Tenchu 4 PSP is due out in Japan next February. While the Wii version is down for release in North America and Europe in Q1 2009, a western release for the port has yet to be confirmed.
