When Konami released their cryptic message somewhat detailing the next installment of the Metal Gear franchise, forums and news sites alike erupted in confusion and conspiracies. This quickly became a touchy subject amongst console owners who speculated the historic franchise was surely going green, Xbox green. Well, the next Metal Gear will remain a touchy subject, but not in the same sense of the word.
Konami has revealed that the next title will release for the iPhone. It won’t be a new installment however as it is considered just a very watered down version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The stages and characters within the title are all taken directly from the critically acclaimed release on the PlayStation 3, thus PS3 owners won’t be missing out on anything at all.
Joystiq has revealed that the title will be joined by three other Konami-developed projects and is named Metal Gear Silent.
