The Performance Mode allows players to prioritise frame rate when playing the game, which allows for a buttery-smooth 60 FPS.
Prior to the release of the Performance Mode, A Plague Tale: Requiem was one of a few PS5 games that were locked at 30 FPS, unless you utilised the 120Hz mode. If you haven’t played the game yet, here’s the official blurb:
As Amicia and Hugo set out to find a mysterious island in the hope of ending the curse which runs through Hugo’s blood, they find themselves having to rely on the help of the people they meet. Walking into foreign territory, the young De Runes are unlikely to make it alone… but how much trust can they place in strangers? The answer seems as uncertain as the island is beautiful and terrifying.
A Plague Tale: Requiem was released for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch (Cloud version only) and Xbox Series X/S in October 2022, and you can read our full verdict here.
