Well-known insider tipster Shinobi602 has hinted that there’s a chance (not a confirmation, they are keen to point out) that God of War developer Sony Santa Monica Studio may have something to show at State of Play on Thursday evening.
When asked about a possible appearance from the team at State of Play, Shinobi602 responded, “Wouldn’t be super surprising given the target release window (this isn’t a confirmation it’ll be there lol).”
Sony announced yesterday that it will be hosting the longest State of Play today on Thursday, which will last over one hour and offer game updates and announcements from studios across the globe. That obviously leaves a lot of room for what could be showcase, and with rumours having been doing the rounds for a while about what’s next from Sony Santa Monica, it’s possible they may have something to show.
The developer is rumoured to be working on a God of War spinoff set in Greece, although Cory Barlog has previously revealed that the studio is also working on a new “technically ambitious” IP.
