Abe’s Oddysee, Abe’s Exodus hitting PSN this week

Lorne Lanning, co-founder of developer Oddworld Inhabitants, has revealed that classic platform outings Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exodus will be unleashed on PlayStation Network on October 22.

Posting on the official PlayStation Blog, Lanning commented, “We couldn’t have been more thrilled when we learned that the PlayStation Network was willing to offer our classic Abe games to an entirely new generation of gamers.”

“Finally, gamers who never got the chance to meet and play him when he first came out on the PSone system, will now get that chance to meet the guy who graced many magazine covers and proved the unlikely hero that captured people’s hearts.”

The Oddworld entries previously hit PSone back in the late 90s, garnering critical acclaim and racking up a mammoth fanbase in the process. Both games will retail on PSN for a wallet-friendly $9.99 USD each.

Elsewhere, Lanning also addressed the possibility of bringing Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath to Sony’s online service, stating, “We’re working on a strategy to bring them over as well. May take us awhile, but we hope to achieve what you’re asking for.”
