Bandai Namco Entertainment looks set to host a closed network test for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, according to a listing on the SteamDB.
X account Ace Combat Wiki spotted references to Ace Combat Online alongside a CNT tag, which is surely a reference to a Closed Network Test. Bandai Namco hasn’t announced anything about an Ace Combat: Wings of Theve CNT yet, but going by this find, it’s very likely we’ll be getting one down the line.
That’s not all though, as the SteamDB listing also features a reference for Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, a title that has not been officially released for the PC yet. It should be noted that this could be a preorder bonus, as Ace Combat 7 offered Ace Combat 5 as a preorder incentive. There’s a strong possibility that Ace Combat Zero may be given a similar treatment.
This latest entry in the long-running franchise sees players stepping into the cockpit as an elite pilot, as you encounter intense dogfights through an adrenaline-fuelled campaign packed with dynamic, multi-layered cloudscapes. Meanwhile, your pilot’s story is told through first-person cinematics as you witness the pressure of command, the weight of decisions, and the bonds forged in battle.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is scheduled for release in 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
