Gaijin Entertainment has announced that World War II flight sim Aces of Thunder will launch on February 3, 2026 for PS5 and PC, with full support available for virtual reality devices including PSVR 2.
Designed with the capabilities of the latest virtual reality hardware in mind, Aces of Thunder delivers high-octane aerial combat that use physically accurate light and damaged models, which are derived from Gaijin’s previous effort, War Thunder. Dog fights take place exclusively from the cockpit of aircraft to deliver an immersive combat experience.
Players will have access to 29 different aircraft from the Second World War, including the Supermarine Spitfire from the RAF, the P-51 Mustang from the USAF, the Japanese A6M3 Zero, and the Luftwaffe’s BF-109. Meanwhile, legendary WWI planes such as the Red Baron’s Fokker Dr.I and Allied ace Rene Fonck’s SPAD S.XIII.
Aces of Thunder will take players to 15 different means from across the globe, representing three key theatres of WWII — Western, Eastern, and Pacific, plus iconic frontlines from the First World War. You can also take part in online dogfights in multiplayer mode, or hop into the cockpit for exhilarating single-player missions.
