Activision talks Call of Duty 5

Activision has officially confirmed development of Call of Duty 5, revealing that the upcoming shooter will be set in "a new military theatre."

The fifth instalment in the highly popular franchise will be available for the PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360 and DS, and, unlike its predecessor, will also make the transition to PlayStation 2 and Wii.

Speaking in a conference call yesterday, Activision’s CEO, Mike Griffith, commented, "We’ll bring the intensity of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title to a new military theatre, to engage our significantly larger user base which nearly doubled last year as new users came into the franchise.”

It is currently unknown whether or not Infinity Ward will be developing the game.
