Aeternum Game Studios has taken to the PlayStation Blog to confirm the December 2021 release of Aeterna Noctis, a new 2D platform game featuring hand-drawn visuals coming to the PS5 and PS4.
Marrying challenging platform segments with ‘frantic’ combat, the game puts players in control of the King of Darkness as they are tasked with unlocking the world’s secrets and putting their skills to the test — including teleportation and dashing.
Aeterna Noctis features a massive skill tree for players to improve their abilities, with three distinct paths to select from: ranged, melee, and magic. This allows you to personalise your skill set to your own style and taking advantage of the six unique weapons available to your character.
Elsewhere, the game will feature 16 areas to explore, with 100 different enemies to battle from fantasy-inspired foes and monsters to warriors that are devised to really put your reflex to the test. Beyond that, you’ll come up against 20 bosses to dispatch, each one offering a huge challenge.

Aeterna Noctis is scheduled for release on December 15, 2021 for PS5 and PS4, and is fully supported by the PlayStation Talents initiative.
