Afro Samurai pushed back until early 2009

Namco Bandai has announced that its upcoming PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 title Afro Samurai has been delayed until January 2009.

The title was previously scheduled for release in fall of this year; however, following the delay, the hack and slash anime adaptation will now hit shelves on January 27, 2009.

Co-produced by Samuel L. Jackson, who also provides the voice of the game’s protagonist, Afro Samurai is an action-based videogame with direct emphasis on strategic swordplay, and follows Afro’s attempts to track down the men responsible for murdering his father.
