If you are heading out on a long flight and you don’t want to watch another B movie or cheesy USA Network sitcom, your flight attendant may just recommend something to keep you satisfied. IFE Services, the in-flight entertainment firm, has revealed a deal with Sony Computer Entertainment America to offer passengers PSP systems on airlines.
The PSPs will be outfitted with an extended battery life that will give passengers 11 hours of enjoyment. Airline staff are being trained on how to help passengers use the handheld device to watch videos or play games. It also appears the systems will be positioned on a setback tray.
"We’re delighted to be able to bring the PSP system to the airline industry," said Mark Hogg, CEO of IFE Services. "As a veteran provider of in-flight entertainment, we know that many airline passengers are interested in playing full-scale games with impressive graphics, which the PSP delivers.
"Our view is that this has been long-awaited by the airline industry and the passengers they fly."
