Jeff Minter’s celebrated arcade shooter Akka Arrh is officially heading to PSVR 2 in Spring 2024, bringing with it a whole new dimension of trippy psychedelic antics for Sony’s virtual reality headset.
While previously Akka Arrh compressed its techno-infused action into a 2D space, the PSVR version of the game offers rich 3D landscapes to explore, offering an ‘intensity and clarify that was one unimaginable’ that transfers the experience.
Akka Arrh sees players are put in charge of a command centre set to vanquish hordes of incoming foes, with your forces starting out with bombs and trigger a chain of reaction. Defeating enemies will see players grab bullets that you’ll use to keep the multiplier ticking over, with the game challenging you to time each shot to maximise your high score.

Akka Arrh is due for release on PSVR 2 in March 2024.
