The Finnish studio didn’t got into much detail on Alan Wake 2, although it’s encouraging to hear that the project is coming along smoothly nonetheless. Remedy isn’t exactly short of things to do right now; the survival horror title is one of five games that the developer is currently working on.
There is still a lot of work to be done, but the game is coming together on all fronts. User testing continues and the feedback from the user research has been encouraging.
Alan Wake was originally released for Xbox 360 in 2010 and launched for PC two years later. The game was later remastered for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in October last year, and you can read our full review here.
Fans had been clamouring for a sequel to Alan Wake for years after the original’s release, and it is believed the game was in development at one stage before being scrapped.
Instead, Remedy worked on other games including Control, but at the Game Awards 2021 finally confirmed that Alan Wake 2 was indeed happening more than a decade after its predecessor’s release.
