Alix Wilton Regan, the new voice actress behind Lara Croft for the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, has promised to honor every previous incarnation of the character in her performance.
Speaking during an interview with Press X To Continue, Wilton Regan revealed that her Lara will be something of a mix between what we’ve seen before with the character and something a little different. “I’m not saying that to be convoluted,” she commented. “I think it is genuinely a bit of both.”
Wilton Regan explained that the phrase “no Laras left behind” is something she’s been working with in her performance. “I like the idea of ‘no Lara is left behind,” she commented. “I’ve looked at all of the performances. Obviously, I’ve got all the scripts, so I know where it’s going, and, you know, I think all of the Lara’s that have previously come before will also be informing as we move into a new era of Tomb Raider, I would say.“
I genuinely, I genuinely think that fans are going to love it… I want to insert a swear word. It’s brilliant. I know what we are making, it’s brilliant. Wherever you fall, whether it’s the original, the remasters, the classics, the Survivor trilogy, wherever on that spectrum… you are going to love it.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a full reimagining of the 1996 classic Tomb Raider, and will be released later this year. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider: Catalyst is a brand new instalment in the 30-year-old franchise and is targeting a 2027 launch.
