Sony has all but confirmed that PSOne horror classic Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is coming to PS Plus Premium, with the official PlayStation UK Twitter account revealing the game is due for a re-release on PS5 & PS4 before swiftly deleting the info.
That’s not all though. YouTube channel PlayStation Access included Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare in its roundup of PS Plus Premium titles, before editing the video to remove any mention of the horror title.

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare was released for the PSOne and Game Boy Color in May 2001 and arrived on the Dreamcast and PC the following month. A PS2 version was later released in September of the same year. The game takes place in October 2001, with Edward Carnby’s best friend and partner, Charles Fiske, having been found dead off the coast of Shadow Island.
Players have the choice of playing as Edward or newcomer Aline Cedrac, with both characters meeting up occasionally as the plot intersects. Along the way, you’ll battle against the Creatures of Darkness and solve various puzzles, much like classic survival horror games of the time.
