Speaking during an interview with GamingBolt, Alone in the Dark developer Pisces Interactive revealed that players can expect around 6-10 hours for each of the game’s campaigns. For those unaware, players will be able to play as two characters, Edward and Emily, each with their own unique stories.
When asked how long players can expect from the upcoming survival horror title, the studio replied:
We target a playtime of 6-10 hours for one campaign. For the full story experience, we would expect players to play the game at least twice.
Elsewhere, the company also assured fans that it’s “committed to the franchise in the long run,” and that it’s “happy to explore” possible follow-ups to the reboot.
Alone in the Dark is a reimagining of the original 90s game, which is often seen as the grandfather of survival horror (something which Resident Evil later capitalised on and brought it into the mainstream). The game is set for release on October 25, 2023 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
