Ubisoft has launched a viral marketing campaign for its upcoming action-adventure Watch Dogs which features an elaborate prank on members of the public.
In the video, customers are lured into an electronics store that claims to fix their smartphones in under 15 minutes. The store owner fixes the phones and then tells them that he has uploaded a very special app free of charge. The app allows the unsuspecting customers to hack into the store’s lighting system and turn it off. He then takes them outside into the street where things get crazy as they turn off street lights, open car doors and make money spurt out of an ATM.
It’s the final hack that really impresses though….
Watch Dogs launches on May 27 on Windows PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
