Amazon’s Tomb Raider Series Pauses Filming Following Sophie Turner Injury

Tomb Raider actress Sophie Turner has suffered a minor injury resulting in filming of the Amazon live action series being put on hold.

Speaking to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios issued the following statement: “Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury. As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”

It isn’t known if Turner’s injury happened on set but filming is expected to be postponed for about two weeks as a result, with the crew still being paid during this time.

Amazon’s Tomb Raider series is the brainchild of actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and in addition to Turner playing Lara Croft, includes Jason Isaacs (Atlas DeMornay), Sigourney Weaver (Evelyn Wallis), Martin Bobb-Semple (Zip), Bill Paterson (Winston), and Jack Bannon (Gerry). The Tomb Raider series celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and Crystal Dynamics is currently working on two new games: Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, which is a reworking of the original 1996 game, and a brand new entry titled Tomb Raider Catalyst.
