Former Naughty Dog writer Amy Hennig has revealed she worked on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for two years prior to her departure from the California-based studio.
Writing on Twitter, Hennig, who was a driving force behind Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, shared some encouraging words on the hotly anticipated sequel.
Hennig also defended Neil Druckmann, who serves as Creative Director on Uncharted 4, when he was accused of taking her work.
We’ve included some of her Tweets below.
@Squanderdalfast Idiocy! 🙂 It’s amazing, I’m sure – plus I poured my heart into it for two years; there’s a lot of me still in there! 🙂

@umair52jatoi@Neil_Druckmann Don’t associate my name with that kind of hate speech. Neil poured his heart into U4 for two years too.

Hennig jumped ship from Naughty Dog to Visceral Games back in early 2014, where she is now working on an unnamed Star Wars project. There was some controversy surrounding her departure at first, with reports cropping up suggesting she had been forced out of the company.
Nolan North, the voice actor behind Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, revealed around eight months of work was scrapped on the action-adventure sequel following Hennig’s departure.
Uncharted hits PlayStation tomorrow, May 10. The game takes place a few years after the events of its predecessor, and sees Nate coming out of retirement as a fortune hunter when his long-lost brother, Sam, turns up after 15 years thought dead.
