Ancestors confirmed for E3 2015, new trailer coming tomorrow

The creator behind the Assassin’s Creed franchise will showcase his new project, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, at E3 2015 this week, Geoff Keighley has confirmed on Twitter.

Patrice Desilets, who departed French publishing giant Ubisoft in 2013, is expected to unveil the game’s first full trailer in Los Angeles tomorrow.

Not much is known about Ancestors at present since its announcement back in April, although hopefully the trailer will shed a little more light on the project.

Desilets was previously linked to a title known as 1666, although that seems to have now folded. This isn’t a surprise though, considering Desilets lost the rights to the game after its publisher, THQ, went under a few years ago.

The developer made this statement following his departure from Ubisoft, where he made it clear he was prepared to fight for the rights to 1666:

"Contrary to any statements made earlier today, this morning I was terminated by Ubisoft. I was notified of this termination in person, handed a termination notice and was unceremoniously escorted out of the building by two guards without being able to say goodbye to my team or collect my personal belongings. This was not my decision. Ubisoft’s actions are baseless and without merit. I intend to fight Ubisoft vigorously for my rights, for my team and for my game."

Stay tuned.
