Annapurna Interactive News Private Division Take-Two

Annapurna Interactive’s Former Staff Have Reportedly Created A New Company, And Taken On Private Division’s Old Portfolio

There were two very big blows to indie publishing in 2024. One of those was the exodus on the entire staff at Annapurna Interactive, and the other was Take-Two shutting down and selling Private Division.

These blows are still felt by the indie market, but thanks to a report from Bloomberg we have a look into a bit of the aftermath from these two events.

According to Bloomberg, the staff that left Annapurna Interactive have formed a new company, which has yet to be publicly named, but what the report does tell us is that a company called Haveli Investments were the ones who purchased Private Division from Take-Two last November.

Haveli Investments then hired the former Annapurna staff to take the lead on Private Division’s old portfolio, which included a number of titles that were still in production when Take-Two decided to layoff Private Division’s staff and sell the publishing label.

The report adds that unfortunately, the approximately 20 people who remained at Private Division when it was sold will partially be laid off with the former Annapurna staff coming in.

It’s all an interesting turn of events and not exactly what anyone might’ve predicted after Annapurna’s staff up and left and Take-Two left Private Division out to die.
