While Apex Legends players have been feeling starved for content in the way of new and interesting game modes, the newest collection event could potentially have something to quench their hunger.
The Celestial Sunrise event will bring a whole new batch of cosmetics, as to be expected. Specifically for Pathfinder, Octane, Ash, and Caustic.
What’s most exciting however about the Celestial Sunrise event is the introduction of a new game mode called Hardcore Royale.
This new twist on the classic Apex version of battle royale removes armour swapping and any armour higher than the base level white armour. Helmets have also been removed, and the ring even starts at maximum damage.
And you’ll do handle all that, with a limited HUD, though we don’t yet know how limited it’ll be.
Beyond this new Hardcore Royale, Respawn also excitingly teases that two more game modes will be added following the collection event.
The first mode is called Date Night, which changes Duo’s in a key way, that if your partner is near to you when finishing a heal, that heal will apply to both of you.
Respawn will even be adding a new variant of the Bocek bow for this new Date Night mode, that heals you by a percentage of the damage you inflict.
These new modes are at the very least something different for players who’ve been feeling like Apex Legends had fallen into a rut.
Hopefully it helps the game pick up some of the steam its lost.
