According to a report on Insider Gaming, a new Guilty Gear game in development at ARC System Works has been scrapped within the past few weeks.
No reason for the cancellation was mentioned by sources close to the project, and ARC System Works has not officially announced anything about scrapping a new entry in its flagship franchise. However, one source was asked what the cancellation meant for the Guilty Gear series, to which they responded it was “back to the drawing board.”

The most recent entry in the Guilty Gear franchise, Guilty Gear Strive, was released for PS5, PS4, and PC in June 2021, and launched for Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
In related news, Arc System Works has teamed up with PlayStation Studios and Marvel Entertainment for a new project, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, which takes the form of a fast-paced brawler featuring a multitude if iconic characters from the Marvel universe.
