Multiple screenshots reported to be from Dark Souls 3 have leaked online, courtesy of YouTube channel The Know.
Rumours of a Dark Souls 3 appearance at E3 2015 began after VG247 were apparently told that Hidetaka Miyazaki (Bloodborne, Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls) will once again be heading direction on the next instalment of the spine-chilling, action role-playing game, which is rumoured to launch on PS4 and Xbox One in 2016.
The Know has subsequently published a video that appears to show the first Dark Souls 3 screenshots, concept art and gameplay details. Among the gameplay details talked about in the video are new “swordfighting arts” that players will be able to equip as their special move, as well as 15 new bosses, 45 new enemies, and the option to create bonfires, which act as save points in the game.
The screenshots and details could be false. Kotaku points out that the interface from the alleged Dark Souls 3 screenshots looks like its been taken from the original Dark Souls game rather than Dark Souls 2.
Bandai Namco recently revealed that Dark Souls 2 hit a new milestone after sales of the acclaimed dungeon-crawler reached over 2.5 million worldwide. The series is renowned for its steep and punishing learning curve, with core gamers revelling in its challenge and intense difficulty.
