Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Allows You To Turn Off The HUD

Ubisoft has revealed that players will be able to turn off the HUD in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, as the revamped combat system includes animations that inform the player of various happening, such as enemy losing their hat when their defense is down.

“Making enemy behaviors and vulnerabilities clearer and rewarding players who adapt their approach rather than repeating a single tactic” is part of how Black Flag Resynced separates itself from the original game.

But this is also where more experienced players can begin to push themselves further. Once you’re familiar with enemy archetypes, combat moves, and the rhythm of defense and takedowns, reducing or removing visual feedback can turn combat into a more instinct driven challenge.

The development team revealed that they’ve “added a visual tell for you: an enemy’s defense is broken when their hat or headpiece falls off.”

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled for release on July 9, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is a full overhaul of the 2013 title Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and comes with a number of enhancements including enhanced visuals, improved parkour and combat mechanics, and new story beats for key characters such as Blackbeard.

Set during the 17th century in the Golden Age of Piracy, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced follows Edward Kenway, the grandfather of Assassin’s Creed III’s Connor, as he finds himself drawn into the centuries-old war between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order, while exploring the Caribbean on his ship, the Jackdaw, in search of riches and uncharted islands.
