Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Has Gone Gold Ahead Of July 9 Release

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has hit gold ahead of its release in July 2026, which means everything’s ship shape (ho ho!) as development on the game wraps.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a remake of 2013’s swashbuckling Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which was originally released for PS3 and PS4. The game takes place during the Golden Age of Piracy during the early 1700s, and follows Edward Kenway, a privateer who soon becomes caught up in the long-running war between the Templar Order and the Brotherhood of Assassins. However, Kenway is a bit more loose with his responsibilities, as he’s more than happy to make a quick buck by commanding his own ship, the Jackdaw, and exploring islands and shipwrecks for riches.

For this overhaul, Ubisoft has not only completely spruced up the visual side of things – the sun-drenched Caribbean setting looks even more beautiful on PS5 – but the combat and parkour system has also been adjusted, taking on feedback from recent Assassin’s Creed titles. There’s also new story sequences for characters such as Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, while the modern day sequences that took place in Abstergo offices have been removed to focus on the core pirate antics.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is out on July 9, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
