Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced On PS5 Pro Features PSSR 2.0, Ray-Traced Specular Reflections @ 60 FPS & More

Ubisoft has revealed how Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will benefit from the increased horsepower afforded by PS5 Pro, offering three modes (Balanced, Fidelity, and Performance) alongside a host of additional visual spilt and polish.

All three graphics modes will support extended Ray Tracing on PS5 Pro, including Ray-Traced Global Illumination and Ray-Traced Specular Reflections, with Balanced Mode offering 40 FPS, Fidelity at 30 FPS and Performance at 60 FPS. Resolution meanwhile is 2160p upscaled suing PSSR 2.0. On the base PS5 meanwhile, Performance Mode offers 60 FPS with Standard Ray-Tracing, while Fidelity and Balanced Modes offer Extended Ray-Tracing — all three modes use 2160p upscaled resolution.

Meanwhile, PS5 Pro offers strand-baed hair for protagonist Edward Kenway across all modes, while in Fidelity mode, nearby crowd characters also take advantage of strand simulation during gameplay. Cutscenes utilise strand-based hair for all characters in all three modes. PSSR 2.0 delivers improved image quality and improved reconstruction, which reduces the visual gap between performance and fidelity modes.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is slated for release on July 9, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game follows Edward Kenway, a privateer who finds himself drawn to a life of piracy and adventure on the high seas as he commands the Jackdaw and its crew, taking him across the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. However, his journey soon involves him in the war between the Assassin Brotherhood and Templars, and brings him into contact with historical figures including Blackbeard and Mary Reed.
