According to the Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming movie adaptation of Assassin’s Creed has been delayed until 2016.
The film was originally scheduled to hit cinemas in August 2015, though insiders claim that the project won’t be ready in time.
As previously reported, the movie has suffered numerous setbacks, including a number of script rewrites—Scott Frank and Adam Cooper were among those drafted in to pen the flick over the years.
Little is known about Assassin’s Creed at present, other than it’ll star X-Men: First Class’ Michael Fassbender in the lead role. Robert Downey Jr. has been attached to play the role of Leonardo Da Vinci, indicating it’ll be based on Assassin’s Creed II or Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.
Fox insiders now place the project for a 2016 release, the same year as the Uncharted movie is planned to hit screens.
