Assassin’s Creed III multiplayer developed by Ubisoft Annecy

Assassin’s Creed III’s multiplayer component is being developed by Ubisoft Annecy, according to the Twitter profile of Tim Browne.

As spotted by GamerZines, the profile confirms Browne recently joined Annecy as the ‘lead game designer on Assassin’s Creed 3 multiplayer @Ubisoft – Annecy.”

Annecy already has ample experience with the series, having previously worked on the multiplayer for Brotherhood and Revelations. In addition, they have also worked on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, another popular Ubisoft property.

Assassin’s Creed III is currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal, and sees players hopping into the boots of an all-new Assassin named Connor during the American Revolution.

The sequel is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 31, 2012, with a PC and Wii U version following at a later date.
