Assassin’s Creed: Rogue story trailer shows Shay fighting for the Templars

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is a bit of an oddball, launching exclusively on last-gen consoles while the higher-profile Assassin’s Creed: Unity sets sights on PlayStation 4. From a narrative standpoint, it’s even more interesting.

That’s because Rogue’s main character, an Assassin named Shay Cormac, switches sides after growing disenfranchised with the Assassins’ brutality. For the first time in series history, players will fight against the Assassins as a Templar.

This conflict will take place in the mid-18th century, during the seven-year French and Indian War. The ties to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will likely be overt; Haytham Kenway can be seen addressing Shay in the trailer, below.

There’s no word on whether Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will eventually see a PS4 release; for now, it’s coming exclusively to PS3 on November 11 in North America and November 14 in Europe.
