Ubisoft has revealed that the Assassin’s Creed franchise has shifted over 6.6 million copies in the U.K. since its inception in November 2007.
Speaking with MCV, Omebline Wallon, Ubisoft’s U.K. Brand Manager, commented, “The Assassin’s Creed franchise has already sold over 6.6 million units in the UK and over the past few years it has become a staple in gamers’ diaries.
“Since we announced Black Flag in March, we have supported it at every beat of the campaign. We will be increasing our media presence as we near launch.”
Black Flag will be supported by a media blowout including TV, print and online advertising, alongside tour that will stop at 20 universities across the U.K.
“This year the anticipation is high, especially with the game coming on PS4 and Xbox One,” Wallon added. “Consumers are very excited about what the new consoles have to offer.”
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is due out globally on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 29. The PlayStation 4, PC, Wii U and Xbox One versions arrive in late November.
