A slew of fresh details on Assassin’s Creed Shadows have emerged from X user Genki, who had the opportunity sit down with the game’s creative director, Jonathan Dumont. Chief among the info revealed includes the fact the team are looking into adding New Game Plus and other modes based on user feedback, and the length of the main campaign.
According to Dumont, players can expect to put around 30-40 hours into Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ main story, but if you want to tackle all the side content on offer, expect the game last around 80 hours. The open world is described as “vast” and “dynamic,” with new gameplay mechanics including light and shadow-based stealth, the ability go prone, use a grappling hook, and a spy network system.

Ubisoft has also implemented a dynamic cutting system into the game, with many objects can be cut and a mark is made exactly where you sword strikes, thus possibly impacting gameplay. In terms of performance, PS5 and Xbox Series X will feature a 60 FPS Performance Mode and 30 FPS Quality Mode.
As mentioned, a New Game Plus hasn’t been confirmed yet but it is being looked into alongside other modes, which will be determined by player feedback.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is pencilled in for a March 20, 2025 release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. PSU went hands-on with the game back in January, so be sure to read our impressions here.
