Assassin’s Creed team wants your feedback for in-game economy system

Ubisoft is on the lookout for feedback (via NeoGAF) regarding the in-game economy systems of the last few Assassin’s Creed titles, specifically Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

While not explicitly stating as much, it is possible the company is eager to garner fan feedback in an effort to shape the fortunes of its next instalment in the multi-million selling franchise, due out in 2017.

Assassin’s Creed has featured an economy system since 2009’s Assassin’s Creed II, which allowed gamers to amass funds in order to rebuild the dilapidated Auditore villa and neighbouring town of Monteriggioni.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood expanded upon this mechanic by allowing Ezio to purchase and renovate various shops around Rome, strengthening the grip of the Assassins throughout the region. Revelations followed a similar path, although Assassin’s Creed III saw the gamers restoring the Homestead with accumulated funds.

Microtransactions were eventually incorporated into the mix with later instalments however, something which didn’t sit too well with a number of fans.

Assassin’s Creed game coming in 2017 as series is ‘reexamined’

Ubisoft announced earlier this year that Assassin’s Creed is officially taking a break as the company reexamines the series. A new mainline entry in the franchise won’t be released until late 2017, and there’s no guarantee the series will resume its annual release schedule either.

Rumors have suggested that the game will be known as Assassin’s Creed Empire and will kick start a brand new trilogy. According to these reports, the new title will be set in ancient Egypt, although nothing official has been confirmed as of yet.
