Ubisoft Montreal Technical Architect, Nicolas Lopez, has revealed in a post on the PlayStation Blog that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will support ray-tracing, and will push the tech further across all modes on both the base PS5 and the more powerful PS5 Pro.
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced pushes ray tracing further across all modes on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. PlayStation 5 brings more consistent lighting, while PlayStation 5 Pro delivers a no-compromise experience with advanced ray tracing performance and enhanced PSSR.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on Jul 9, 2026. The game is a full ground-up remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, and uses the latest iteration of the Anvil Engine to overhaul the visuals, offering more detailed character models and environments. The gameplay mechanics have also been revamped, with parkour and stealth giving players more options, while Edward Kenway’s trusty ship, the Jackdaw, is now equipped with more weapons and can also be outfitted with three new officers, each with their own unique abilities.
