Astro Bot Reportedly Sold More Copies In UK In 2 Days Than Concord Sold Globally

Christopher Doing of GI.biz has chimed in on the performance of Astro Bot in the UK physical charts, saying that while he expects a longer sales tail for Astro (it didn’t do as well as Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart during its opening week), it has sold more in two days in the UK than Concord managed worldwide.

The Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart comparison is interesting, as the PS5’s install base was obviously far lower back in 2021, and it came out during a period where most of us were in lockdown. That’s not to mean Astro Bot hasn’t performed well, but Dring notes that its physical sales aren’t huge yet. Here’s what he had to say on X:

Astro Bot’s UK sales (physical-only so far) aren’t huge. Opening week is about a third lower than 2021’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but I expect a longer sales tail for Astro. It’s certainly sold more copies in the UK in just 2 days than Concord sold worldwide.

Astro Bot was released on Friday for PS5 and is being touted as a contender for Game of the Year. On the PlayStation podcast, Hermen Hulst said that the Sony considers the franchise a ‘very, very’ important‘ IP for PlayStation going forward, so presumably we haven’t seen the last of Astro Bot.
