Atari has chased down the errant PlayStation 3 version of Alone in the Dark – subtitled "Inferno" – and slapped it with a sticker marked "European release on November 14".
Good news for those of us who enjoy taping aerosol cans to stuff for the purposes of combat experimentation, or plunging bits of fragmentable wood into realistically contagious fire.
Alone in the Dark attracted middling-to-desperate scores when it chewed up the Xbox 360 in May, but Inferno benefits from rejigged controls, a thorough technical delousing and a lower difficulty threshold. It still doesn’t sound essential, if we’re honest – and is unlikely to oust Dead Space, Silent Hill Homecoming or SIREN: Blood Curse from your disc drive – but there may yet be some meat on this bone.
Thanks for doing the legwork, Eurogamer.
