Having already stated that Catherine has broken sales records for the company, Atlus today tweeted a picture that gives us a rough idea of how many units were moved off shelves during first week sales.
The cake pictured above was made in celebration of hitting the 200,000 copies sold in the first week. Keep in mind that whilst 200,000 seems like a low number in comparison to other large hit video game launches, we have it on good authority that Catherine didn’t cost too much to develop, and it certainly doesn’t have mass-audience appeal that a game like Call of Duty would.
I still believe we’ll hear about Catherine hitting the 1-million-sold milestone at some point soon. We also have it on good authority that this time, the cake is not a lie.
