Aykroyd: Atari-published Ghostbusters game a year away

Speaking this morning on the Jagger show, Dan Aykroyd confirmed that Ghostbusters: The Video Game has been picked up for publishing through Atari. The title, previously owned by Activision, was dropped shortly after the merger with World of Warcraft creator Blizzard Entertainment. While fans of the series are highly anticipating the release, Aykroyd has also stated that the title is around a year away from retail shelves.

There is speculation that the release of this title may coincide with the announcement or release of a new Ghostbusters film. These rumors have been circulating the internet, but seem to stall from being confirmed due to the fact that one of the original cast members is refusing to sign on for the movie. As more information is released surrounding this cult classic, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.
