Bad news Aussie gamers, Saints Row IV has been refused classification again

Australian gamers will be dismayed to learn that Saints Row IV has been refused classification in the region for a second time.

The over-the-top actioner was re-submitted to the Australian Classification Board after first attempts failed to secure the game a release Down Under.

However, the game has again been unsuccessful in nabbing a rating from the board. Unsurprisingly, the main culprit appears to be the application of the ‘alien anal probe’ weapon, as well as heavy drugs use.

“In the Review Board’s opinion, Saints Row IV could not be accommodated within the R 18+ classification as drug use related to incentives and rewards is not permitted," the board stated (via Kotaku).

Aussie gamers should take note that the second submission of the game pertains to the original copy, and not the ‘safe’ version that developer Volition is working on.

Saints Row IV is due out in August for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
