LocalThunk, the developer behind Balatro, has revealed that he’s 100 completed the game, which he says also makes him better equipped when it comes to working on the next update.
I have 100% completed Balatro! Was a ton of fun to hunt for Completionist++. I play a few runs before bed and it’s been a great part of my daily routine. I think it’s also equipped me to better design the 1.1 update Pumped to do it over again with the new content when it’s out!

LocalThunk also posted an image to prove his accomplishment, which reveals he’s scored a gold sticker on every Joker, which is something that less than one percent of all global players have achieved to date. He told a user on BlueSky that he accomplished the goal using a “mostly Ghost, some Painted and Yellow’ deck, but “every now and then [he’d] throw in a random one too just for fun.”
Balatro was released in February 2024 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The game takes the form of a roguelike deck-building game that was developed over two-and-a-half years by LocalThunk, taking inspiration from Big Two and Luck Be a Landlord.
