Bandai Namco Entertainment has not ruled out the possibility of revisiting the Tales franchise again with more remastered projects in the future.
Speaking during a Q&A on its website regarding the possibility of more Tales remasters, the publisher had the following to say:
We hear from a lot of passionate fans of the series around the world that they want to play old Tales games on the latest platforms. We as a team thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts. We are currently focused on the release of Tales of Symphonia Remastered, but we await your suggestions and requests in the future.
Speaking of remasters, Tales of Symphonia Remastered launches for PS4 on February 17, 2023. In related news, the publisher filed a trademark for Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn in Europe last year, indicating Tales of Arise may be getting a sequel or expansion.
As for possible remasters, there’s a few candidates for what Bandai Namco could churn out down the line. Tales of Xillia and Tales of the Abyss were released for the PS3 and are not currently playable on modern consoles, so they would be prime choices for the remastered treatment.
