Smashing its original Kickstarter goal of £175,000, 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee, created by some of the talent behind Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country, has become the highest ever crowdfunded game in the UK.
Current backing for Yooka-Laylee has reached over £1.5m, which will enable to team to provide a richer experience on PC, PS4, Xbox One and WiiU.
Said to be the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee’s gameplay takes inspiration from classic 3D platformers. Players will explore a colourful 3D world searching for collectibles and battling bosses using special moves like Yooka’s tongue grapple and Laylee’s tactical sonar blast.
